San Francisco

One of those friends. That's Kacey.

One of those friends that gives the best advice.

That knows me better than anyone else. Knows my flaws, and yet still sees me for the person that I want to be.

Better yet, I am closer to being that person when I'm around her. If there's one thing that I've learned, it's that finding a friend that makes you more like the person you want to be is not to be taken for granted.

One of those friends that makes me laugh so hard that I pee. {Oh wait, that was you, huh Kace?}

Where the conversation just flows so naturally. We can go from joking about the silliest thing, to having an incredibly deep convo in .2 seconds.

And those deep convos? Man, they're good. Heck, our gchat conversations are amazing, so you know the in person talks are even better.

I left this weekend feeling like I knew myself a little better. Feeling a little bit lot more excited about this phase of our lives. This phase where nothing is certain. Where I could be living in one place today, and be moving to an entirely different place in the next 6 months. Where I could have one job this year, and be in an entirely different field next.

This phase where I am meeting so many new friends, going through the ups and downs of dating, and getting to know who the heck this Amy girl really is.

It's scary not knowing where on Earth I will be in 2 years.

But more than being scary, it's exciting. And it's exciting because through all the uncertainty, there are some constants too.

Like Kacey. A best friend, who will always, always be there.

I love you, Kace. So, so much.

Aaand commence photo dump:

We started the weekend at Paint the Night, a fundraising event for Young Audiences of Northern California. The event was at Club Six, and it was the perfect start to an amazing weekend.

Saturday, Kace and I went on a gorgeous run by the beach {yes, it was gorgeous, even with the SF summer fog} and ran errands with her roommates to get ready for their Olympics party!

How creative was that fish and chips idea? They had so many great decorations, it was quite a Pinterestastic event.

It was so great to reunite with two of our other best friends from high school. If you're wondering what's on Lauren's mouth (all the way on the left), it's a mustache. Can you guess what country she represented?

You totally guessed that she's Borat from Kazakhstan, right? Sooo funny!

Esp. since we used to do Borat prank calls in highschool. Cause we were that cool.

And no party is complete without a dance party:

Sunday was another perfect day in the city, complete with a Farmer's Market trip and a Bloody Mary brunch.

Oh, and did I mention that all of this was a surprise?

Yeah, Kace had no idea that I was coming. Thank you to her amazing roommates who helped me plan the surprise visit!

I don't think I need to say it, but I will anyway. It was an amazing weekend. Sans camera battery and all.

It looks like you had a great weekend! Enjoy these years finding out who you really are. I used to waste so much time being sad bc I was single and everything like that. Don't worry about anything. God has a plan! And thanks for your e-mail and the prayers- I'll e-mail you soon with an update.

Looks like such a good weekend and amazing that you pulled it off as a surprise, I'm hopeless at keeping secrets so I'd never be able to do it!!

This seriously is the best phase of life though. Three years ago I was teaching ballet in Pennsylvania and I could never have guessed that by now I'd be living in this town planning a Disneyland wedding! Not to mention all the amazing stuff that's happened in between- jobs I never could have imagined, trips to places I never knew existed, meeting some of the most amazing people. It's been incredible but sometimes kind of scary too!
