Five On Friday

One -- Thank you guys so much for your love and support on yesterday's announcement. I am constantly blessed by this community, both online and real life community (though they kind of both become real life at some point, huh?)

Two -- I went to a wedding last weekend! {Shocked? Yeah, I know.}

My guy's best friend got married, and let me tell you, nothing tells you more about a man than the friends beside him. Good, quality friends usually stand beside a good, quality man. And both Kris and Stephanie? They are top notch people, and I was honored to be a part of their wedding. 

Not to mention, I thoroughly enjoyed this wedding because a) Frozen was played multiple times. and hand gestures were welcomed/encouraged. and b) there was not a dry eye in the house from the father of the bride speech. and I'm a sap who loves a good cry at a wedding, so there ya go. 

Three -- I signed up for my seminary class! I am so excited to kick that off on September 29th. And guess what I'm studying? The most exciting interesting captivating thrilling cant put it down book of the Bible!!

Try to contain your jealousy. 

But really, I'm thrilled. If I'm going to start studying the Bible, I may as well start with the rich, old testament stuff! Leviticus, bring it on. 

Four -- Speaking of studying the Bible, we're kicking off this Bible study on Monday night. 

Has anyone done it? This will be my third Beth Moore study, and I can't say enough good things about them. My first two were Revelation and Breaking Free, so tooootallly different, but both amazing. Really amazing. 

Can't wait to kick this one off!

Five -- I'm updating to ios8 as we speak. Therefore, I am staring at a screen like this:

I'm really looking forward to sending everyone I know audio text messages. 

And you thought snap chat was good.

Haven't done one of these in a while, but there's always a lot to be happy about on Fridays, am I right? So let's celebrate a bit of that today. 

*The fact that I'm not working today makes me happy.*

If you're wondering what a flexday is, you can read all about the amazing-ness here. Just a little over a year ago, I started tracking flexday festivities with the #tgiflexday hashtag. Now, there's a whole group of us using it, and I love looking back on all the fun ways we've spent those free Fridays. 

*The fact that I'll be getting a free kick in the butt workout this morning makes me happy.*

If you're local, I can almost guarantee that you've heard this name around. Maybe you've seen her shirts, or her posters, maybe you've heard people raving about her program, or maybe you've heard her yelling encouragement at people running on the side of the road {probably that one}, but let me tell you that Jenny is the real deal. Her classes are some of the hardest I've taken. Ever.

*Living with these ladies makes me happy.*

The way the Lord brought this house together was just such a blessing. It feels like just yesterday, we were dreaming up everything we could possibly want in a house. And now, boom. Here it is. And it's called the Hideaway. 

Last night was the first time we were able to have a legit roommate night. It included Yogurtland, Friends, and practicing Minute to Win It games. 

I really, really love living with these girls. 

*Finding verses that speak straight to my heart, at just the right moment makes me happy.*

It has been happening quite frequently lately, and each time it's just a sweet reminder that God is here. That He sees me, and He knows me. And He's rooting for me. 

One of the verses that spoke to me this week was this piece of gold:

But God's discipline is always good for us, 
so that we might share in His holiness. 
No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening - it's painful!
But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living
for those we are trained in this way. 

Hebrews 12:10-11

So. Darn. Good.

Made it through the week!! Was it a long one for you? It sure was for me! There were quite a few stressful moments, but also tons of moments that made me happy.

Blog friends, meet Kali. I met this girl right around the time I met Madeleine. I thought I was getting myself into a group of guy friends, and turned out I walked away with some of my now closest girlfriends.

That would be Hosanna, my gorgeous friend who, in a matter of a few months, will be jet setting off to Germany for a year. 

So what does any good friend suggest one do before setting off on a big world adventure?

It's been a great week, so I'd say that calls for a HAPPY Friday post.

*Starting the Overcome the Lie 40 Day Challenge this week made me happy*

The 40 Day Challenge is a challenge to devote 40 days to being intentional about seeking to understand more about God's love for us. Last Sunday at church, our pastor said something that struck me. He said something along the lines of we will never be able to love others the way that we want to if we don't first understand the way that God loves us. 

This theme has been hitting me a lot lately. How understanding how much God loves us would radically change everything else in this life. So when the idea of a 40 Day Challenge was thrown out, I was all for it. 

I will be fasting from spending money on clothes. 

Yes, this will be a challenge. But helloooo rest of my closet that I've been neglecting!

*Wonderful time in the word left me feeling happy*

I never before realized how much it was emphasized that we are made in God's own image. 

I knew it was said, but three times in two verses? I think Someone's trying to tell us that we are pretty darn priceless in His eyes. 

So thankful that we are claimed as God's own. He reminded me this week that that is where my identity lies, not in anything else. 

*The fact that this time next week I will be back at Stagecoach makes me happy*

*Knowing that I'll be reunited with one of my very best friends while I'm there makes me extremely happy*

*Heading home to see the fam this weekend makes me happy*

*My blog redesign being almost ready to reveal makes me happy*

I cannot recommend Amy enough.

Starting something new this week, it's called HAPPY Friday! and I'm going to list things that made me happy this week. Because in my opinion, you gotta choose whether to focus on the good or the bad. And I'm gonna focus on the good, ya dig?

**Knowing that I'm going to be seeing my fam this weekend made me happy.**

**Watching this preview over and over and over again made me happy. I'm about to start the book, and if it's even half as good as the preview (which I've heard it's better) then I'm sure I'll be obsessed.**

**Getting excited for a Friday night with these 2 made me happy.**

**Getting happy hour with my amazing roommates made me happy.**

**Getting a great discount and amazing service at Elephant Bar made me happy.**

**Finding this song, and making it my new obsession made me happy.**
