Before I get started, let me just say that this is not a sponsored post. LARABAR has no idea that I am even writing about them, I just love their bars that much that I want to devote an entire post to them.
True love, folks. True love.

Back in April, I did 30 days with no sugar. And "no sugar" to me meant that I looked at the ingredients in everything I ate, and if I saw the word "sugar" or "honey" or "agave" or "maple syrup" or pretty much any name that I didn't understand, I put the item down.
I was shocked to find that many of the things I considered to be healthy snacks, had sugar in them. Now, I'm not preaching that all forms of sugar are bad. I'm fully aware that some of them are better than others, but I wanted to take time away from it all to rid myself of that dang sweet tooth.
LARABAR was pretty much the only bar that I could find without sugar. I've been hooked ever since. They are so good, that you don't even miss the sugar or honey or agave.
When I was on vacation with my sister, I stocked up on bars for us to have for breakfast, dessert, snack, anything. I knew my sister was a picky eater, and pretty much sticks to only carbs, turning her nose to anything with color. But I was certain that she would love these bars.
And love them, she did!
We had three different flavors:
The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip bars did have sugar in them from the chocolate chips, but the Apple Pie bar? None!
And guess which one was my sister's favorite? (And mine too)
The Apple Pie bar!
But seriously, they are all delicious. And they are all jam packed with natural, healthy ingredients.
If you haven't already, try one today! They have a ton of flavors, so be sure to let me know which one turns out to be your favorite!
I know you've seen me confess my love before but I am MILDLY (and by that I mean totally and completely) obsessed with Larabars. Apple Pie is also a fave in our house and the PB Choc Chips ones are so sinful-yum!
ReplyDeleteOnce I get a new food processor I think I'm going to play around with creating Larabar-like snack bites so stay tuned!
I'll have to check these out! Where do you buy them? :)
ReplyDeletethey are pretty yummy without the cardboard taste most of the other healthy bars have. i need to try the apple pie one though!
ReplyDeleteYES! I havent even read the post yet just from the title I know I will be screaming YES through the whole thing! I hate bars, but swear by these! I cannot believe how "whole" they are!!! I have 3 in my desk, one in bag, and a couple in my car right now!! LOVE lara
ReplyDeleteYou have to try the banana bar one too!
ReplyDeleteI have tried the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ones for this yeast free, but I didn't like them. They weren't terrible, but I wasn't that impressed. I need to try the APple Pie!
ReplyDeleteOh, these looks so great! I am in search of good bars for going back to school. This is perfect for snacks throughout the day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :)
xo, gina
Those look amazing! And the fact they have little to no sugar makes me happy. :)
ReplyDeleteGirl, i love Lara Bars too! I actually had to stop eating them b/c of the sugar... that's right...dates are very high in (natural) sugar. And high glycemic (not good if you are insulin resistant) & it was not allowing me to keep losing weight. Of course NOW i have slacked off a bit and would go back to eating them occasionally. But i was obsessed with them so my eating them was NOT occasionally. Ha! I do love that they only have real natural ingredients. The peanut butter cookie one is my fave. I also love the blueberry muffin one. YUM!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a Lara Bar but I'm in love with Clif Bars. I'll have to check the ingredients on them :) Something that I love about living overseas is that there tends to be less "junk" in all of the food.
ReplyDeleteErmmm they sound so good!!! I'm going to have to find out if you can get them in the UK now. This would be seriously good for helping me on cutting down on how much sugar I eat!
